The other week, I had the opportunity to tour The Urban Hive’s brand-new location at 730 I Street in Downtown Sacramento—and it’s safe to say, they’ve delivered something special for our region’s entrepreneurs and creatives.

If you’ve ever visited any of The Urban Hive’s previous spaces, you’ll know what I mean when I say they’ve always nailed the intersection of creativity, community, and productivity. Their new flagship space continues that tradition in a big way. It’s not just a coworking space—it’s a hub for innovation, art, and connection.

Housed in a beautifully updated 1960s-era building, this 22,000-square-foot second-floor space brings the same open-concept energy that Urban Hive is known for. Natural light pours in through wide windows, art lines the walls, and the layout encourages the kind of spontaneous collaboration that drives so much of Sacramento’s entrepreneurial spirit.

What really stood out to me were the thoughtful touches throughout: phone booths for private calls, a meditation room (yes, really), plenty of cozy corners to hunker down with a laptop, and meeting rooms that are sleek but still welcoming. And the amenities? Craft coffee, kombucha on tap, fresh fruit—it’s like they read every coworker’s dream checklist and just…did it.

Co-founder Molly Weber gave me a tour of what’s to come, too. She’s especially excited about their soon-to-open podcasting studios and event spaces. As someone who knows how valuable it is to have flexible venues for storytelling, panel discussions, and community gatherings, I can’t wait to see those in action. These additions will open up even more possibilities for innovators and creators looking to share their ideas with the world.

For us at CleanStart, partnerships and collisions with forward-thinking people are what drive our mission forward. Spaces like The Urban Hive foster exactly that. They’ve built more than a workspace—they’ve created a platform for Sacramento’s changemakers to thrive.

If you haven’t visited yet, I highly recommend stopping by for a tour. This is another strong step forward for Sacramento’s innovation ecosystem.
