Applications are now being accepted for our 2023 Clean Tech CEO Crash!
Want to learn how to operate your business as a real CEO? Have a good idea for a business but unsure of what you need to do? Join the CEO Crash Course brought to you by BlueTechValley and CleanStart!
Attendees will access:
- Essential knowledge and skills required to develop their ventures
- Individualized mentoring
- Benefit from networking opportunities to connect with other companies and domain experts
- Be provided with opportunities to publicize their companies and ideas
The course will be taught by a team which includes a five-time serial tech entrepreneur with a record that includes two companies which broke through the billion-dollar public valuation threshold, a senior analyst of all significant clean tech companies trading on the stock exchanges, and a well-known Professor of Entrepreneurship at the USC Marshall School of Business.
This is an intensive course for early-stage companies that have already sketched out a business plan. Graduates of the course will finish with an upgraded plan that they will have developed with feedback from their peers and outside experts. The purpose of the course is to shorten a team’s time from first investment to first profit by focusing on key tasks and on avoiding common mistakes.
The course will be limited to twelve teams who appear to have the best chance of creating a successful clean tech business.
The course will consist of 16 2 ½-hour sessions, generally two per week from October 16th to December 15th. The sessions will be both virtual and in-person. The in-person sessions will be held in both the Sacramento area and the Fresno area. In addition, there will be exercises to be completed outside of the classes and submitted for evaluation.
The cost of the course is $300 per person or $1,000 per team, whichever is less. Scholarships available.

Feedback from past graduates
I completed CleanStart‘s CEO Crash Course, an 8-session course designed to give cleantech entrepreneurs an overview of topics from Customer Discovery through Finding Your Value Proposition, Building a Winning Team, Prototyping Your Product, Financial Management Best Practices, Forecasting, Growing Your Business, Raising Money, Valuation, and Planning a Good Exit. As much as it was learning from the instructors, it was great learning from fellow classmates and entrepreneurs. Thank you very much for offering up this very helpful resource!
