Every Wednesday morning, one or two entrepreneurs present their early-stage businesses in 6 minute presentations that are followed by 20 minutes of questions, feedback and advice from an audience of their peers. Sacramento Culture Club is a narrative podcast that highlights the restaurants, venues, artists, and cultural spaces that make Sacramento unique. Each episode features two thoughtful, journalist-style reviews that help listeners understand why these places are worth their time, money, and support. The goal is to encourage both residents and visitors to discover and sustain local food, arts, and live events, especially those that may be overlooked by traditional media.

Plate$ is creating an affordable platform for inspiring small business owners in the food industry to market their goods in one place. With a website where micro enterprise kitchen organizations, cottage license holders or professional chefs who use professional kitchens can sell their goods in one space. The model is a subscription based service for the small business owner. The business owner can upload their bio, images of their food items, descriptions and adjust their location on maps all on their own at anytime. Customers are free to use the site after creating an account. The customer can browse menu items automatically loaded by their location. Fresh local food choices at their finger tips from their own community in their own neighborhoods. The website and future app will bring local underserved communities together to support each other through the sharing of meals.
