The Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship is excited to bring to you this session about intellectual property which will enable you as a founder and/or business leader to protect your innovation. This workshop will be led by Rafael Gacel-Sinclair, Technology Transfer Officer at Sacramento State's Office of Research Innovation and Economic Development.
In this workshop, he will discuss the various forms of intellectual property while providing you with case studies to explore the various ways to protect your innovations. Specifically, he will work through how to obtain:
About Rafael Gacel-Sinclair:
Rafael Gacel-Sinclair joined Sacramento State to set up the Office of Innovation and Technology Transfer to educate and advise faculty, staff and students about Innovation and Intellectual Property (IP); and to protect and commercialize Sacramento State innovations and IP.
Before joining Sacramento State, Rafael served 22 years in similar university offices – three years as a Technology Licensing Associate with the University of Hawai’i, and 19 years as an IP Analyst, Officer, and Associate Director with the University of California, Davis. Rafael has managed the patenting and/or commercializing of over 200 university inventions; has written, negotiated, and/or reviewed over 10,000 IP related contracts; and has helped bring in over $25 million in program income and licensing.
