StartupSac and the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Sac State welcome one of Sacramento's most accomplished founders, Dr. Pam Marrone, founder of Marrone Bio.
Dr. Marrone started the company in 2006 to discover and develop effective and environmentally-responsible, biologically-based products for pest management and plant health. In August 2013, she led the company to be listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange, raising net proceeds of $56.4 million. In August 2020, she retired as CEO and continues to serve on the Board and as an advisor.
Dr. Marrone spent her 30+ year career focused on leading the way to a more sustainable agriculture through discovery and commercialization of biological products for pest management and plant health. She is currently Executive Chair of Primary BioAg Innovations and Global BioAg Linkages, founded to help agtech/bioag innovators scale and succeed in market adoption.
