CleanTech Meetup: DERs & VPPs

At this month’s meetup, we will dive into Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Virtual Power Plants (VPP). Increasingly, people are pointing to microgrids and distributed energy resource management systems to solve the dilemma of intermittent renewable energy resources and demand balancing.
What role will these play locally? How do DERs and VPPs reduce our dependence on carbon intensive fuels? What opportunities are there to connect with utilities to accelerate innovation through DER and VPP programs? We will talk about that and hear from SMUD about their upcoming programs implementing DERMS and VPPs.
