From Our Chairman
If you weren't at our inaugural Cleantech Meetup on January. 25, you missed a great event!  After an hour of networking, we heard three terrific presentations. Ezra Beeman of Empower Energy talked about his ElectroBank product, a smart battery-based home energy storage device that has a quicker payback than plain storage units that are not so smart. Rustin Vogt, an engineering professor from Sacramento State, described his sustainable Tiny House student project, equipped with solar and built from the ground up for efficiency. Bob Bruns talked about his solar panel optimizer app that would help people get the most value from their panel arrays considering utility time-of-day pricing. You can read more about their presentations on our Blog here.

Most people in the crowd had never heard about any of these projects before. The cleantech business sector in our region is still a well-kept secret and we need to change that! Each month we'll showcase more cleantech companies at these meetups to build awareness of the terrific companies we have here--both the veterans and the rookies--and connect them to resources that can help, and open the doors to some collaboration and cross-fertilization. Our next one is February 27, and we'll introduce some of our companies dealing with waste conversion.

Also, on March 1 we will have a workshop with the ARB, The Grant Farm and Terzo Power to explain the opportunities opening in 2018 for funding demos and projects.

All of these are free so please join us!
