Wins First Place in Berkeley Big Ideas Competition
RePurpose Energy
RePurpose Energy, led by UC Davis Energy Systems student, Ryan Barr, earned 1st Place in the Energy & Resource Alternatives category at this year's UC Berkeley Big Ideas Contest. RePurpose aims to enable the clean energy transition by reusing electric vehicle batteries to store solar energy. In this way, the team tackles two Grand Challenges at once: California’s 100 percent clean energy target and the growing need to reduce electric vehicle battery waste. Visit our blog to read the complete story and to view Ryan's winning pitch video.
